Blogs I like (and not just about France)
Main Menu

Every blogger is also a reader, so each of us has websites and blogs that we particularly like, some of which are sources of inspiration for us. Today, August 31st, is International Blogging Day, and this is an excellent opportunity to celebrate blogs and websites that I greatly appreciate and that I think you will love too.

To make your reading list easier, I divided it into four main sections: blogs about Paris, travel blogs, culinary blogs, and blogs on various topics that I really like.

Paris

Since my blog is primarily about Paris, it's no surprise that I'll start this article by giving a shout-out to some excellent blogs about city of Lights Who have definitely been and continue to be an inspiration to me.

The Parisian

The Parisian

For me, this is the blog that started it all. I came across this blog about 10 years ago and fell in love with it immediately. Kinneret Rosenblum, the owner of the blog, lived in Paris for years and brought back the little secrets that only those who live in the city of lights know. I remember reading it almost every day and really felt like I was traveling in Paris. There is no doubt that her blog was an inspiration to me in the days when I never even dreamed of starting a blog.

Paris, Sharon

Paris, Sharon

And speaking of inspiration, it's impossible not to mention Sharon Heinrich. Sharon arrived in Paris after a successful career in the security services with one suitcase and a huge desire to write about the culinary culture of the City of Lights. A few years later, Sharon's blog became a household name and there's hardly anyone I know who travels to Paris who doesn't use her recommendations. I'm pretty sure most of you know this blog, but if you don't, then this is definitely a must-read when planning your next trip to Paris.

The family traveling Paris

The traveling family

Like Sharon Heinrich, Shlomit Yefet Bialik decided to leave her job to pursue a dream. Instead of moving to Paris, however, Shlomit decided to become a “professional traveler.” Armed with extensive knowledge of travel planning, excellent writing skills, and several children, Shlomit began writing the “Traveling Family” series of books that explore planning family trips to various destinations around the world. So yes, it’s not exactly a blog, but a printed book, but it’s a must-have guide for anyone traveling to Paris with children.

Travel blogs

Although Paris is wonderful, when you leave it, you arrive at charming places. Whether they are different regions in France or other countries, you should really get to know these blogs.

All about Japan

All about Japan - Yoni Katz's website

When I first came to this site, I felt like I had found the Japanese brother of “Francophiles Anonymous.” So if you are planning a trip to Japan, I highly recommend visiting this site and finding a wealth of quality information.

Traveling through stories

Amiram Tsabari travels through stories

If up until now I have talked about blogs that inspired me, I am very happy to tell you that my blog has also inspired someone. Amiram Tsabari was a programmer, whose big dream was to become a tour guide. He came to my blog and asked if I would like to publish an article of his. I happily agreed and the result was A series of great articles about France and its cultureFinally, Amiram decided to spread his wings, become a tour guide, and open a new blog called “Traveling Between Stories,” where you can find quite a few fascinating historical stories about various European countries (with a specialization in Italy).

Sees the world

I met Michal Manor in a blogging course with Yonit Tzuk (which I will talk about later) and since then I have been following her (not in the stalking sense 🙂 ) and enjoy collaborating with her. Her lovely travel blog contains a wealth of photos, maps and itineraries for various trips (not necessarily FranceI highly recommend her if you are planning a trip to different countries in Europe, looking for someone to help you document your trip, or just looking for a little escapism.

I noticed

I noticed - Ziva Raanan

A lovely travel blog by Ziva Raanan. I love it because Ziva chooses to go off the beaten path and follow the less touristy paths. The result is a blog that on the one hand contains very interesting and useful information, but on the other hand also contains a unique perspective that emphasizes local communities and sustainable tourism.

Treasure collector

Treasure collector - Rebecca Koffler

I met Rebecca Koffler when I was still blogging in Salona. Rebecca is an excellent photographer and writes with grace, which makes her blog particularly interesting. You will find not only information about different places in the world, but also a historical story in the digital series "The Path to the Mountain."

Culinary blogs

My love for French culture comes second only to my love for food, so it's no surprise that I also follow quite a few culinary blogs. Here are a few that I particularly liked.

Eating culture

Eating culture

Naama Sobol has created a wonderful culinary blog for anyone who wants to discover the real Haifa, the one that is under the institutional radar. The blog deals with local cuisine, multidisciplinary fringe culture, fascinating characters in the city, unique communities, behind-the-scenes politics and more. And if you want to get a taste of her writing on my blog, you are invited to a guest article she published on my blog dealing withParis located in Haifa.

Happy in the kitchen

Happy in the Kitchen - Ruth Ofek

I don't cook, but I can't ignore Ruth Ofek's baking and cooking blog. Why? First of all, because she is someone with a huge passion for what she does and I admire people like that. Second, because the blog looks lovely and is also very useful. And third, because I really like her writing style so much that I was very happy to host her on my blog in an article aboutSix days of culinary travel in Paris.

Anton Chili's Food Blog

Anton Chili's Food Blog

I became convinced of Anton Chili when he published a guest article on my website dealing withCulinary tour in the MaraisThis is a beautiful blog that contains not only recipes but, just as importantly, reviews of restaurants in Israel and abroad.

Eat and drink

A great culinary blog by my friend Rani Rogel, which contains articles about food in Israel and around the world and a significant number of articles about Israeli and international wine.

Other blogs I really like

There are all kinds of wonderful blogs here that are a bit difficult for me to categorize, but I follow them eagerly and happily.

Timeless Hemlines

Timelss Hemlines Ariella Goichman Garber's blog

Me and fashion are two lines that never meet in clothing stores, but they certainly meet happily above the pages of history. And if there is a blog about the history of fashion that you must know, it is Ariella Goichman Garber's blog. Ariella is one of the most charming women I have ever met, and the combination of her historical knowledge and fashion understanding creates one of the best blogs on the subject online. And by the way, if you want to read her articles on the subject of French fashion, you don't have to go far from my blog, but simply go to the article about Marie Antoinette or on Audrey Hepburn and Givenchy Which Ariela posted on my site.

Gplanet – Guy Bechor's blog

Guy Bechor's blog

One of the characteristics of the blog world is the fact that almost all of them (including my site of course) are free. In this sense, Guy Bechor's blog is different because it is the only blog for whose content I pay money through an annual subscription and with great pleasure. This is a blog that deals with Middle Eastern, Israeli and European affairs and provides a fresh and fascinating perspective on the processes that are taking place these days. I cannot express in words how much I love this blog and look forward to its updates that occur twice a week. If you want to pay for a blog, this is the blog for you.

The blogger – Yonit Tzuk's blog

The blogger

If you too have a burning desire to write and want to start a blog, Yonit Tzuk is the person to turn to. I was lucky enough to take her first Parliament course and not only did I receive a set of tools but I also met quite a few lovely bloggers, some of whom I recommended in this article. In addition, her blog contains a wealth of very important information that can help you take your blog to new heights, so I highly recommend following it.

And by the way, if you feel like starting your own blog and want to learn how to do it properly, you are welcome to register for its parliament. Until the 1.9 Through this link And win a special discount.

Stik Media

Stik Media

Well, it's not exactly a blog, but more of a website that has a blog, but if you're looking for someone to help you with your SEO or social media management, these are the people to contact. Let me especially recommend Yoni Katz who works there and helped me a lot with all the SEO issues on my website.

  2. Zvi, what a fun and encouraging surprise!! Thank you very much and what an honorable list to include!
I don't know if you remember, but in our second lesson in Parliament, Yonit asked everyone to tell us about themselves for two minutes. You stood tall and proud and spoke with immense passion about the blog and Paris.
Then Yonit asked that anyone who had a personal connection to what Zvi said vote and speak after him.
And I… had a notebook with illustrations of my beloved Paris that I bought especially for the parliament and of course I immediately voted and spoke after you. Apparently nothing is accidental.
I admire your path and perseverance, your story is cosmic to me. Everything that has happened since the blog and where you are today in life. A rare story!!
I promise to keep my promise and write you a post about Paris for Francophiles 🙂
Wishing you a wonderful year full of Paris and new discoveries!!
