to get toParis For me, it's like coming home. Living for two years in the city of lights captured my heart. I fell in love with the beauty, the simplicity, the culture, the smells, the flavors, the aesthetics. I also fell in love with the people, despite popular opinion. We, the Israelis, who come from a culture that allows anyone on the street to take an interest, not to mention invade our privacy, have a hard time understanding how it's possible that we don't know the neighbor who lives next door to us.
And I, from the place of a local in Paris, enjoyed feeling the space that people give each other. In my experience, the ability to be anonymous in your own home gives a lot of peace.

For several years while living in Paris, I allowed my senses to be fully alert every day to absorb as much as possible. Wandering around the city, studying French, working at a neighborhood bakery, and taking care of sweet, six-month-old twins, I enjoyed every moment.
After returning to Israel, I continued to visit the city every few months, to visit friends and return to favorite places. Each of my children was introduced to Paris from an early age, with the goal of allowing them to experience the city's charm as well.
Paris is a city for all ages, it has everything and in good taste. And in my opinion, there is significant value in giving a child constructive and educational cultural experiences, and you can undoubtedly provide that in the magical city.

General recommendations for a trip to Paris with children:
Walk as much as possible.
As in any big city and in life in general, as a fitness trainer and guide to Paris, I recommend going, going, going!!!
There is no better way to absorb everything around us than to walk the streets. I also always remind those asking for recommendations that the most visited city in the world excels in public transportation in all its forms, and the bus windows are much brighter than the metro. Take the metro for the experience and then study the bus map.
When traveling with children to Paris, it is better to rent an apartment.
With a family, especially with small children, I always prefer an apartment hotel or a rented apartment, both for convenience reasons and so that we can enjoy the abundance available in every corner and cook simple but delicious meals from the best ingredients in the world. I really like the CITADINES apartment hotel chain, especially the CITADINES TOUR EIFFELIf you don't find a vacant apartment there, you can find other apartments inThe apartments page on the website.
And if you're looking for a hotel? Here are some hotels that are suitable for a trip to Paris with children.
How to choose a hotel? To experience the city from the most authentic place possible, meet people on their way to work, walk past the local market, go to the supermarket and buy some products to take home with you, I recommend choosing a hotel on the less central streets and in residential neighborhoods. My personal recommendation - District 15, close toEiffel Tower, the large metro station La Motte Picquet – Grenelle and the shopping street Rue de Grenelle. The hotels I particularly like are HOTEL LE MARQUIS EIFFEL PARIS וHOTEL MERCURE PARIS TOUR EIFFELIf these hotels are booked, you are welcome to read the article. Recommended hotels for families or check the Hotels page on the website.
In any case, whether you've rented an apartment or taken a hotel, it's recommended to check carefully that there is an elevator there and that it's the right size for the stroller. Otherwise, you'll have to do quite a bit of fitness to carry it up the stairs.
Logistics of children on the streets of Paris:
- Take a stable and safe stroller. – Driving with strollers around Paris is very convenient, the sidewalks are wide, the crosswalks are accessible, and there is great respect for pedestrians. My personal recommendation is a stroller that is as stable as possible so that it can carry everything we need and that it will be safe when wandering around the city.
- Metro or bus? Stroller accessibility in the metro is problematic. If you are strong and not afraid of carrying, it is possible, but as mentioned, the bus has its advantages.
- Diapers, baby food, children's food– In the many supermarkets in the city you can find everything and more. It is better to bring your own food as there is a different variety than in Israel.
- Children's clothing in Paris– Of course it depends on the season of the year, but it is important to take into account that in any case it is advisable to have warm clothes with us (the stroller is heavy). Even in the hot seasons, the morning hours are cool (yes, the opposite is true in Israel, since the sun only sets around ten at night).
Itinerary with children in Paris
The route I built is accessible by public transportation. As I mentioned, with children, it is preferable to choose the bus (lines 42,72 and XNUMX come from the hotel area I mentioned).
This is a “non-binding” route, with several places along the way for spontaneous stops when the children lose interest.
The museum, which allows you to absorb fine culture and art, is a comfortable and inviting museum, not too large and suitable for children. You may also get to meet a school or kindergarten class that visits the place from time to time (a day in the life of a Parisian child...).
The restaurant where we have lunch is a simple, pleasant, and inviting Italian restaurant for families and children. Although Paris boasts the best and most luxurious restaurants in the world, living in Paris has allowed me to understand that even in most simple restaurants and in my neighborhood brasserie, we can get gourmet-tasting dishes.
Itinerary map
The gardens of the Champs Elysees
We will leave the hotel in the morning, go buy coffee and a croissant or any other desired pastry and, depending on the weather, decide whether to sit down to eat or take it with us for the first stop of the day at the charming JARDIN DE CHAMPS-ELYSEES garden. The reason I chose it is that, unlike the vast majority of Parisian gardens, it is a garden that allows sitting on the grass and is therefore highly recommended for children.
The Orangery Museum, the Tuileries Gardens and the Angelina Tea House
After we had a snack and enjoyed the greenery around us, we continued towards Place de la Concorde And from there he entered the much-famous gardens of JARDIN DES TULERIES. Immediately at the entrance he entered the charming MUSEE DE L'ORANGERIE, a comfortable and inviting museum, not too large and suitable for children.
After the museum tour, we will continue into the gardens where we will find the Ferris wheel that we can go up with the children and/or continue to the ANGELINA tea house where the children will enjoy a thick and delicious chocolate or choose a macaron or cake from the impressive display case. Please note that you can take away if sitting with the children is less convenient for you…
An Italian restaurant in Paris that kids love and a cafe that parents love
From there we will continue towards Rue Saint-Honoré, the prestigious and impressive street and from there we will go straight to the Place du Marché-Saint-Honoré. There we will find the Italian restaurant Fuxia which serves Italian food that everyone loves. After dinner, if the parents want to enjoy a fine coffee (which is sometimes difficult to find in Paris) in the style of a standing coffee shop, you can stop by the CHEZ ELI cafe located at rue saint roch 53.
A little culture and a little shopping
And now, if we still have strength left, we will continue towards GARNIER OPERAFirst, we will be impressed by the magnificent structure and, if we wish, we can take a tour inside the opera house, a spectacle no less impressive for children.
Now, if you wish, you can continue shopping a little in the stores located around the opera: Uniqlo, Gap, Gap Kids, Decathlon, Sisley, United Colors, C&A, as well as local designer stores: MAJE, BCBG, IZAK. The Galerie de la Paix is also very close...
And I recommended that after such a busy day, stop by the local supermarket MONOPRIX or AUCHAN, which are located near the hotels I mentioned.
