It’s no secret that Paris is considered an expensive city to stay in. However, whenever the three words “cheap hotels in Paris” come to mind, the image of Father Goriot dying in his empty room or Ernest Hemingway freezing in his room automatically comes to mind. The truth is, while there are cheap hotels in Paris that will make you feel like a cloistered person, that’s not always the case.
If you search carefully, you can find a cheap hotel in Paris that can be a great base for your travels and still not be saddened by the thought of having to return to it at the end of the day. Here you will find a number of excellent hotels at prices that are affordable for everyone.

A cheap but excellent hotel of my friend in Paris
ATN Hotel
A three-star hotel in a not bad location at all, not far from the SAINT LAZARE train station, with an excellent breakfast. The hotel belongs to a French friend of mine, which guarantees a cordial attitude towards Israelis. In my opinion, one of the best hotels in terms of cost-benefit.
Cheap and good hotels in the Latin Quarter
Two really inexpensive hotels, owned by a French friend of mine. They are not located in the “most” touristy areas, but they offer great value for money.
Hotel
2-star hotel in the Latin Quarter, about half a kilometer from Notre Dame and 3 minutes from the metro. Air-conditioned rooms and free internet. Very close to the Luxembourg Gardens.
Hotel de L'Esperance
Small and cheap family hotel near Moffatar Street Lively. Includes air conditioning, WIFI and a lovely little courtyard for breakfast. Very clean with friendly staff.
Cheap hotels in Saint-Germain-en-Laye
Hotel Saint Pierre
Great location! Quiet street near Boulevard Saint-Germain, close to Cluny metro and Luxembourg Gardens. Basic hotel (“Spartan” as a friend described it), but with a shower, toilet and TV in the room.
Hotel Michelet Odeon
Cheap and popular 3-star hotel on the Place de l'Odeon. Great location near cafes and the Luxembourg Gardens. Clean and spacious rooms for the category, with free internet.
Cheap hotels near the Louvre and the Marais
Hotel Montpensier
Inexpensive hotel on Rue Richelieu, 400 meters from the Louvre and close to the Palais Royal. A significant advantage: there is an elevator! A great option for those who want to be in the center of things.
Hotel de Roubaix
Simple and inexpensive hotel near Montmartre Street and the Pompidou Center. Friendly and pleasant service. Recommendation: Skip the breakfast at the hotel and enjoy the excellent bakeries on the street next door.
D'win
Very popular hotel in the heart of the Marais, about 5 minutes from the Hotel de Ville. Modern rooms with air conditioning (very important in summer!) and flat screen TV. Perfect location.
Paris France
Elegant and cozy hotel in the north of the Marais. Great location near two metro stations and walking distance to attractions. Bonus: the hotel is Jewish-owned and Israelis are welcome.
Another affordable option near the Republic
Meslay Republic
I stayed here in 2019 and really enjoyed it. Close to Republic Square and the north of the Marais. A 3-star hotel at a very reasonable price (which remains reasonable in 2022) and an excellent location.
Hostels in Paris
If you're young (or young at heart) and don't mind giving up a little privacy in exchange for some serious financial savings, you might want to try a hostel. I haven't tried it myself, but you can find a variety of options at the following link.
Are all the cheap hotels booked?

Don't despair! Try checking out more deals at the general link:
Hemingway stayed at the Carillon Hotel…
You mean a late stage in his life when he was already a famous writer (and even then, I think he only stayed at the Ritz, which he “vacated” at the end of World War II). I mean the young Hemingway who had to live like a pauper because he didn’t have much money (or so he writes in “A Traveling Feast”).
An excellent site. As someone who travels a lot to Paris, I learn a lot and get a lot of help.
Thanks
Thank you very much 🙂
