It’s no secret that Paris is considered an expensive city when it comes to accommodation. However, whenever the three words “cheap hotels in Paris” (or “cheap hotel in Paris”) come to mind, the image of Father Goriot dying in his empty room or Ernest Hemingway freezing in his room automatically comes to mind. The truth is, while there are cheap hotels in Paris that will make you feel like some kind of cloistered scoundrel or a penniless romantic poet, that’s not always the case.
In fact, if you search carefully, you can find a cheap hotel in Paris that can be a great base for your trips and still not be saddened by the thought of having to return to it at the end of the day. Because there are quite a few Hotels in ParisI decided to help those who are interested. Save money during your vacation in Paris without going broke And provide you with a number of excellent hotels at affordable prices.
When I was looking for cheap hotels in Paris for you, I had 4 basic principles in mind:
I want to start this article by recommending two really inexpensive hotels, owned by a French friend of mine. True, they are not located in the most touristy areas (but not far from them either), and they offer great value for money.
Since the time of Balzac, it has been considered theLatin Quarter An area with quite a few cheap hotels, mainly thanks to the students who studied there and were looking for a cheap place to live. The years have passed, and the Latin Quarter has become very chic, but you can still find hotels and Bed & Breakfasts that are not expensive and not bad at all (if you just know where to look).
A two-star hotel in the Latin Quarter, about half a kilometer from Notre Dame and a three-minute walk from Maubert – Mutualité metro station. It has free Wi-Fi and air-conditioned rooms.
Breakfast is served at the hotel, and there are several restaurants within walking distance. The Luxembourg Gardens are just a 15-minute walk away.
A small and inexpensive family hotel located not far fromMoffatar StreetOne of the site's readers lived there and was very impressed with the friendly staff and cleanliness.
Although it is a cheap hotel, the service includes air conditioning, free WIFI and a marble bathroom. The hotel has a charming little courtyard where you can have breakfast if the weather permits (and if you don't want to have breakfast at the hotel, you have endless culinary options on Moffatar Street).
Saint-Germain district It is rightly considered one of the most central and chic districts in Paris, and as such it is also among the most expensive. Despite this, you can find several hotels in a central location and at a very friendly price for the frugal tourist.
My dear friend's favorite hotel Joel Tamanlis. Simply wonderful location on a quiet street near Boulevard Saint-Germain and very friendly prices. The hotel is located less than 300 meters from the Cluny La Sorbonne metro station and is also very close toLuxembourg GardensIn short – a winning location!
Although my friend Orit Abramovich-Sociano found the hotel a bit spartan, it has everything a traveler needs: a shower and toilet in the room, and even a television.
A cheap 3-star hotel that is very popular with many Israelis. The location of this hotel, Odeon Square, is simply wonderful. From here you can easily reach the restaurants and cafes that are not far from Boulevard Saint-Germain and of course also theLuxembourg Gardens.
Although it is a small and modest hotel, it provides free Wi-Fi and each room has a toilet and a bathtub (or shower). The rooms are also clean and spacious compared to hotels of this tourist class.
Marais District He is theMy favorite district in Paris, so I try to stay there almost every time I visit the city. In the past, the Marais was considered one of the cheapest and even most backward places in Paris (which is why it attracted quite a few Jews during the 19th century). However, in the last 40 years, the Marais has become a chic district and hotel prices have risen accordingly. Nevertheless, those who search carefully can find some inexpensive and not bad hotels in both the 3rd and 4th arrondissements that make up the Marais.
Inexpensive, elegant and cozy hotel that creates a quiet and informal atmosphere. Great location in the north of the Marais, not far from two metro stations and within walking distance of quite a few attractions in the Marais. Big bonus: the hotel is Jewish-owned, which means Israelis are happily welcomed here.
I stayed at this hotel in 2019, and really enjoyed its location (adjacent to Republic Square and the north of the Marais) and its service.
My friend Orit Abramovich stayed there in 2022 and said that the prices, which were reasonable before, have become even more reasonable.
Therefore, if you are looking for a 3-star hotel at a reasonable price and an excellent location, this is the hotel for you.
I stayed at this hotel in 2006. A simple and inexpensive hotel, located not far from Montreuil Street with its many culinary attractions, Center Pompidou And more.
There is Wi-Fi, and a shower and toilet in every room. The service at the hotel is also very friendly and pleasant. The hotel offers a continental breakfast, but I would highly recommend skipping it and going to Montreuil Street, which is not far away. There you can find patisseries, boulangerie and other food shops that will allow you to create a breakfast fit for kings.
In short, an excellent hotel for people looking for a cheap hotel in a good location.
A very popular hotel among site readers. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the Marais, about a 5-minute walk from theHotel de VilleThe hotel rooms are modern and contain air conditioning (very important) and a flat-screen TV. Some rooms also have a minibar where you can store food items that require refrigeration.
Quite a few Israelis are looking for hotels near The Louvre Museum And for a great reason. First, it is an important and beautiful museum inside and out, which even has its own shopping mall. Second, the Louvre's location is very central and easy to get to from the surrounding area on the Left Bank, Place de la Concorde, and Boulevard de l'Est.Champs Elysees Or eoperaBecause this area is very central, the price of hotels there is accordingly, but if you search carefully you can find a bargain or two.
An inexpensive hotel located on Richelieu Street, I have loved him since childhood.. The hotel is 400 meters from the Louvre and very close to the Palais Royal. The hotel has an elevator, which is very important for younger travelers who do not want to carry their luggage upstairs. Also, each room contains a toilet and a bath or shower.
Dalit Gol Geva's recommendation:
In March I was at this hotel, in the north of the 15th arrondissement, right on the Bir Hakim bridge (my favorite of the Paris bridges), right across from the metro exit. Small but cozy room, clean, very helpful staff (one of the clerks said his colleague spoke Hebrew, but we didn't meet her), I reported a problem with the bathroom door in the evening, the next morning it was fixed, and at a really good price.
True, the hotel is located near Park Monsori, which means it is far from the center, but it enjoys some very compelling advantages, which is why I brought it here:
1. The area is quiet, pastoral, safe and charming.
2. There is RER B nearby so you can get to the center Paris Really fast.
3. The prices are really, really friendly, which makes the hotel especially perfect for advanced Francophiles who are not afraid to live outside the center and are looking for a cheap hotel that provides value for money.
If you are young (or young at heart) and don't mind giving up a little comfort in exchange for some serious savings, then you might want to try booking a hostel. I've never stayed in a hostel in Paris so I can't recommend a specific hostel, but I would be happy to recommend the following website where you can find quite a few hostels at a variety of cheap prices.

Hemingway stayed at the Carillon Hotel…
You mean a late stage in his life when he was already a famous writer (and even then, I think he only stayed at the Ritz, which he “vacated” at the end of World War II). I mean the young Hemingway who had to live like a pauper because he didn’t have much money (or so he writes in “A Traveling Feast”).
An excellent site. As someone who travels a lot to Paris, I learn a lot and get a lot of help.
Thanks
Thank you very much 🙂
