But just before the magic, a small technical matter remains: How do we get there?
Paris is a huge city, and Disneyland isn't even in it, but in a suburb called Marne-la-Vallée, about 32 miles east of the city. The good news? Starting in 2025, getting there has become extremely cheap (I'll tell you how much, you won't believe it). The not-so-good news? If you don't choose the right route, you could find yourself lugging luggage through endless metro tunnels.

The revolution of 2025: RER train for only €2.50! 🚂
If you've been to Paris before, you probably remember that a trip to Disneyland was a relatively expensive affair (about 5 euros one way). Well, forget about it. Starting January 1, 2025, Paris' major transportation reform came into effect.
What does that mean? It means that there is now Flat rate €2.50 (the price may be slightly updated, but it’s an order of magnitude) for each train, metro or RER ride throughout the Île-de-France region. It doesn’t matter if you travel two stops within the city or an hour to Disneyland – the price is the same.
Zvi's tip: Don't let the old ticket machines fool you. Make sure you buy a regular ticket (Ticket t+) or use Navigo Easy, and that should have you covered. This is huge news for families!
Where do you get off? Overview of the RER stations in Paris 📍
Disneyland sits on a line RER A (The Red Line). This is the fastest and most efficient line in the city. But where should you get on it? Here is an analysis of the main stations within Paris, so you know what is most convenient for you:
Charles de Gaulle – Étoile (Arc de Triomphe)
- Advantages: Super-central location at the end of the Champs Elysees.
- Cons: The station is very deep, with lots of escalators and long corridors. Less convenient with heavy luggage.
Auber (near the Opera and Galeries Lafayette)
- Advantages: Excellent connection to the central shopping area and hotels.
- Cons: One of the busiest stations in the world. During rush hours (morning and afternoon) it feels like a sardine can.
Châtelet Les Halles (the heart of Paris)
- Advantages: The center of the center. All the lines come here.
- Cons: The largest maze in Europe. It is very easy to get lost, and the walk from the metro to the RER platform can take 10 minutes or more. If you are with strollers – try to avoid it.
Gare de Lyon (the big train station)
- Advantages: A nicer station, wide platforms, relatively good accessibility. An excellent option if you live in the Bastille or Bercy area.
Nation (East Paris)
- Advantages: The last stop within the city. It's usually easier to find a seat (because a lot of people get off here), and access to the platforms is simpler. My personal favorite.
it's important to remember: When you are on the platform, look at the screens. Make sure the train is arriving atMarne-la-Vallee – Chessy (Sometimes marked with Mickey Mouse's head.) Don't take a train that ends at Torcy!
Arriving from Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) ✈️
Option A: TGV train (insanely fast) – recommended!
This is my favorite option. There is a TGV train station at Terminal 2 of the airport. This train will take you to Disneyland inOnly 10 minutesYes, ten minutes.
The downside? The price can be high if you don't book in advance. Tickets are sold like airline tickets – the price increases as the date approaches.
Option B: Taxi or private transfer
If you missed the TGV or you are in a large group, a taxi is the most convenient solution. More on this in the taxi section below.
4. Arrival from Orly Airport 🛬
There is no direct train from Orly to Disneyland. Your options are:
- Magical Shuttle: The official bus (comfortable, but takes time).
- Public transportation (for advanced users): OrlyVal to Antony, then RER B to Chatelet, and change to RER A. Not recommended with luggage and tired children.
- Taxi/shuttle: My preferred option in this case.
5. Taxis, Uber and private transportation – when is it worth it? 🚕
A lot of people are afraid of taxis in Paris, and with some justification (the meter runs fast), but when it comes to Disneyland, sometimes it's the smartest solution.
When should you take a taxi?
- When you are 3-4 people or more: The cost of 4 shuttle tickets can reach €90. A taxi will cost about the same, but will take you door to door without stopping at 5 hotels along the way.
- When you land late at night: When there are no trains, this is the only option.
- Indulgence: Come on, after a flight with children, sometimes it's worth paying an extra 20 euros to have someone carry your suitcase for you.
How do you order and how much does it cost?
- Apps: Uber and Bolt are strong in Paris. The price varies according to demand, but will usually cost around 70-100 euros from the city center or airports.
- Official taxis (G7): Very reliable. You can order in advance on their app.
- Private transfers (VTC): There are lots of Israeli or local companies that offer vans for groups. The advantage is a fixed price in advance and child safety seats (which are usually not available in regular taxis).
6. Magical Shuttle 🚌
This is the official red-and-yellow bus. It departs from terminals 2E/2F at CDG and from all terminals at Orly.
Advantage: Drops you off right at the hotel lobby (Disney hotels and select hotels nearby). There is WiFi on the bus.
The disadvantage: The trip can be long (an hour and a half if there are traffic jams), and it passes between several hotels until it reaches yours.
7. Rental car: Why should you avoid it? 🚗
Unless you sleep in...Davy Crockett Ranch (there are no shuttles and a car is required) or inVillages Nature, I highly recommend Don't rent a car. Just for Disney.
- Parking at hotels and the park is expensive.
- Fuel is expensive.
- The traffic jams at the exit from Paris (A4) are a nightmare not created by the devil.
- Inside Disneyland itself, everything is done on foot or by free internal shuttles. The car will just stand there.
