What is prohibited to bring to Disneyland Paris? Official regulations prohibit bags or suitcases larger than 55 × 40 × 25 cm, glass bottles, alcoholic beverages, selfie sticks, tripods, drones, toy weapons, and costumes for visitors over the age of 12. Food and drinks from home are permitted, but eating and drinking inside the attractions and in lines is prohibited.
I receive this question in an email almost every week, and it's always phrased by a concerned person. The reason is simple: the parks' internal regulations are published only in English and French, and the Hebrew guides are mostly content with a general sentence. In practice, the security check at the entrance is where families discover that the item they packed especially for the trip is not allowed in.
I have translated the official Disneyland Paris regulations here , section by section, not from guesswork on forums or from someone's experience from 2019. If you are planning a visit and have not yet read my complete guide to Disneyland Paris , you should start there.
Allowed bag dimensions: The number you should memorize
The official limit is 55 × 40 × 25 cm . Any bag, backpack or suitcase exceeding this will not be allowed into the parks. The measurement includes the outside pockets, wheels and handles, not just the body of the bag.
This is the section where most people fail, usually those who arrive directly from the airport or before a flight. A large hard cooler packed with food for the whole family may be stopped precisely because of its size, even if its contents are completely permissible.
Full list of prohibited items
The regulations divide the prohibitions into three groups: dangerous objects (weapons, materials, glass), objects that disturb other visitors (selfie sticks, tripods, speakers), and objects that harm security or commerce (drones, commercial photography).

Is it allowed to bring food from home to Disneyland Paris?
Yes. The regulations do not include food for personal consumption in the list of prohibited items, and only prohibit two things in this context: alcoholic beverages and glass bottles. The practical limitation is the size of the bag, not its contents.
For Israeli families, this is the most important section in the regulations, and for two reasons. The first is economic: sandwiches and a bottle of water for four save about 70 euros a day. The second is practical: those who keep kosher can bring their own food without relying on pre-ordered dishes.
- permitted: Sandwiches, snacks, fruit, plastic bottles and baby food.
- forbidden: Alcohol, glass bottles, and hard coolers that exceed the size of the bag.
- It is forbidden in any case: Eat or drink inside the facilities and performance halls, including in lines.
Important clarification: The regulations do not publish an exact list of permitted types of food, and discretion on the ground is left to the security team. I wrote in detail about kosher food and the options available in the park in the Restaurant and Food Guide.
Costumes and masks: The rule that surprises parents
Children under the age of 12 are allowed to come in costume, provided that the mask allows a clear peripheral field of vision and allows the child's eyes to be seen. Costumes are strictly prohibited for visitors aged 12 and over, except for medical reasons.
People are surprised by this rule because they have seen pictures from other parks around the world where the policy is different. The logic behind it is safety-related: an adult in costume might be confusing to staff in costume, and in a place with lots of children, it's complicated. Anyone who wants to dress up and is over the age of 12 can do so with accessories: ears, a hat or a themed shirt, without a full costume and without a mask.
What happens at the security check at the entrance?
The regulations grant Euro Disney Associés SAS the right to inspect clothing, coats and personal belongings, either visually or using equipment, before entering the parks and also within them. Anyone who refuses to be inspected may be denied entry.
During peak hours, the line for screening is the line that no one plans for, and it can be as long as twenty minutes. If you plan to enter when the gates open, arrive 30 to 45 minutes early. Three things to know before you arrive at the station:
- A rejected object is not saved and may be destroyed. The regulations explicitly state that the company does not retain rejected items, and they cannot be returned upon exit.
- The staff has no authority to guard your belongings. Outside of the deposit points outside the parks, there is no one to hold anything for you.
- Disney is not responsible for theft, loss or damage. For personal belongings within the park area.
When is Disney allowed to not let you in at all?
The regulations reserve the management the right to limit or refuse entry to the parks, and even to evacuate one of them, if the occupancy rate is too high, for security reasons, or in the event of force majeure. This is another reason to arrive at opening rather than at noon on a busy day.
In practice, this happens mostly on a few days a year, especially during the Christmas holidays and the weekends of French school holidays. I wrote in detail about the full schedule of busy and quiet days in the complete guide.
