Quite a few people I talk to claim that Parisians are not nice at all and anti-Semitic/anti-Israeli in particular. I do not deny that these phenomena exist in Paris (otherwise how could the newspaper Le Parisian do its series of funny advertisements that can be found in other posts on the page). However, from my experience after about 20 trips to Paris, I can state with certainty that 90% of the French are super nice and friendly people as long as you treat them accordingly (you can learn about the rules of conduct in this post ).
In any case, for all those who were not convinced by the previous paragraph and for those who love good wine and a happy atmosphere, I would like to recommend the wine bar “Chez George”, which is located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris (the exact address can be found below). This is a long-standing wine bar that has not changed since its establishment in 1952. When you enter, you are greeted by a well-equipped bar, but my suggestion is not to be tempted but to go down the stairs to the wine cellar where the real action takes place. In the wine cellar you will find a dear man named Geoff, a charming Frenchman who not only does not hate Israelis but loves them with all his heart! Yes, gentlemen, an Israelophile in the center of Paris ! And if a nice host and an excellent selection of wines do not convince you, let me recommend that you come at night, when Geoff starts dancing to everyone present and the atmosphere is simply electrifying.
In short, when you are in Paris, don't miss this place and you are guaranteed a happy and enjoyable evening.
