The twelfth districtParis It is not considered a particularly touristy district, which is why most tourists who do come to it do so because they have found מלון או Apartment Cheap in the area. But that doesn't mean that if you don't live in the area then you don't have anything to see there.
First, you will find there the My favorite food market, which is the Allegre Market and I'm sure that after you visit there you will agree with me. Secondly, the film lovers among you will be able to find the Cinematheque Museum there and enjoy a comprehensive display of French history. The history lovers among you will also not be disappointed when they visit the Place NATION where the guillotine stood, the PICPUS cemetery where the murdered of the revolution were buried and the Chateau de Vincennes, which is actually outside Paris but borders the 12th arrondissement and therefore I will consider it part of this arrondissement.
In short, there is definitely something to see, so let's get going.

Aligre Market
Address: rue d'Aligre from rue Crozatier (12th arrondissement).
Open Tuesday-Sunday from 08:00 AM-13:30 PM.
For me and for many, this is the best market in Paris. Ask many Parisians about their weekend plans and there’s a good chance they’ll include a visit to this market followed by a meal with friends at one of the restaurants dotted around the area. The market is divided into three sub-markets: the open-air market along Rue Aligre, the covered Beauveau market and the flea market. Here you’ll find a wealth of fruit, vegetables, fish and gourmet foods alongside clothes and other “pitchpacks”.
Guided tour of the Aligra market
Foodies who want to get to know the Allegre Market in more depth and taste the delicacies sold there will be happy to hear that there is a guided tour of this market. You will also stroll through the surrounding streets and discover the culinary influence of North African food on French cuisine. The tour includes:
- Small group trip
- Visiting stores that sell Cheeses, chocolates, meats and more.
- Food tasting

Nation Square and Picpus Cemetery
Anyone interested in the history of French Revolution There are two places of great interest in the 12th arrondissement. The first is Place de la Nation, where the guillotine operated for a significant part of the Reign of Terror and where many nobles were beheaded. The square is recommended not only for its bloody history of the revolution but also for the Statue of the Republic displayed in its center, and the columns on which the statues of Philippe Auguste and Saint Louis are displayed.
And speaking of the guillotine… Not far from there is the Picpus Cemetery where all those who were beheaded on the Place de la Nation were buried. After the end of the French Revolution, the sister of one of the beheaded bought the land and turned it into a cemetery for those who wanted to be buried near their relatives who were murdered during the French Revolution. You can find there quite a few graves of some of the most prominent members of the aristocracy. France First and foremost is the grave of Lafayette, who was buried here because his wife lost quite a few members of her family during the French Revolution and wanted to be buried next to them.
Address: 35 Rue de Picpus
שעות פתיחה: Every day, except Sunday, between 14:00 PM and 18:00 PM.
The Blue Train
Address: Gare de Lyon
True, it's not an attraction or a museum but a restaurant, but what a restaurant!
The restaurant was built for the Great Exhibition of 1900. Each room in this magnificent restaurant represents a different region of France and is decorated with 41 paintings by the most prominent artists of the time. It is no wonder that this restaurant was declared a historical monument in 1972.
It is definitely recommended to visit there and even have a little coffee to properly enjoy the decor.
