The eleventh district of Paris It's not really a tourist district, but a district that was traditionally home to furniture manufacturers, and in that way it's reminiscent of Herzl Street in the Florentine neighborhood. Like our Florentine, this place has also undergone tremendous gentrification and in recent years it has experienced a significant culinary boom. So is all this place can provide is a variety of restaurants and entertainment venues alongside relatively cheap hotels? Not exactly.
The 11th arrondissement has several small museums, most notably the Atelier de Lumiers, which has become a sensation since its opening in 2018 thanks to its exhibition on Klimt. It is also highly recommended to simply wander through the alleys, courtyards and small passages of the district to absorb as much of its special character as possible.

Museums in the 11th arrondissement
Atelier des Lumieres
Address:38 Rue Saint-Maur
Metro: Rue Saint Maur
Museum type: Payment
Opening days and hours: Monday-Thursday 1000-1800. On other days it is open until 19:00.
The 11th arrondissement was never known as a district of Museums But as a fairly popular residential and commercial district. The developers behind Atelier des Lumières decided to locate the new museum in an abandoned factory in this district in order to bring a social message, not just an artistic one.
Did I say museum? I'm not sure that's the most apt definition for this place. The reason for this is that there are no exhibitions with physical art (sculptures, pictures, etc.). What is there is an amazing multimedia installation that projects works of art onto the walls of the former factory. The first exhibition to be presented here was by the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt and it was a huge success. To find out what exhibitions are on display while you're in Paris, I highly recommend checking out My temporary exhibitions page.

A few words about the attraction: A must-see place for lovers Edith Piaf and her poetry. It is a small apartment run by Bernard de Marshous, who knew Edith Piaf While she was still alive, he turned the place into a shrine to the memory of the famous singer.
