The units range from a studio for two to a three-room apartment for six, all with a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and microwave, and the rooms are soundproofed. Some have a private balcony. There is a garden, an inner courtyard, a 24-hour reception, a laundry room with a free-use machine, playpens and strollers, and a children's play area. Breakfast is available for an additional fee, but is free for children under 16 with one paying adult. The park is across the road, and the Lorraine Canal is a few minutes away, and the Boutsari and Beit Chaumont stations are nearby. Note one important detail: there is no air conditioning in the building at all, and there are no units adapted for accessibility. I recommend it for families arriving in spring or autumn, not in the height of summer.

Apartments in the area between Parc Beit Chaumont and Parc La Villette, and if there is a district that is suitable for families with children, it is exactly this one. Beit Chaumont is the dramatic park in Paris, with artificial cliffs, a suspension bridge and a temple on top of a rock, and La Villette hosts the Cité des Sciences, the largest science museum in Europe, and the Jaude, the spherical cinema dome. Be aware that you are far from the historic center: Notre Dame or the Louvre will take about half an hour by metro, and you will need it for every exit, including returning at night. I recommend them for a family coming for a week or more and considering cost versus space.

A new and fully equipped apartment on Rue du Hainaut, in the northeast of the 19th arrondissement. This is a completely residential area, one that doesn't appear in any guidebook, and precisely because of that you can get a lot more meters for the same money. From here it's close to the Lorraine Canal and the bike paths along it, and for those who like to run or ride in the morning this is a real advantage. Parc Bette Chaumont and Cité des Sciences are a few metro stops away. Note that the area is very quiet and very little happens in the evening: restaurants and cafes are in the direction of Belleville or Jaurès, and not below the house. I recommend it to those who come for a long stay, cook for themselves and mainly want to sleep in peace.
