What is meant by?
Nice has everything you're looking for in a city break: shopping, museums, a market, restaurants and bars, and even beaches. The beauty is that all of these things are within walking distance of each other, making a visit fun, convenient, and suitable for all ages.
Promenade des Anglais
From the moment you land in Nice, you feel the sense of freedom – the airport is right on the sea, and the journey from it to the city takes you along the Promenade des Anglais, which is lined with palm trees.
Nice beach
The coastline of Nice is spectacular in its beauty. It is recommended to go up to the lookout point from Colline du Chateau and look out over the beach and the turquoise waters, after which the French Riviera is named Cote d'Azur (Azure Coast). The climb to the lookout point is mostly shaded and passes through a pleasant wooded area. Those who are willing to climb higher will be able to see waterfalls and also the view from the other side of the city.

In front of the observation deck is the famous I love Nice sign, which you cannot return to Israel without taking a picture by 😊.
It is important to know that the beaches of Nice do not have sand but small stones. If you are looking for beaches with sand, you can find them in the town of Antibes , which is about a 40-minute drive away.
There are many cafes and restaurants near the beach. Many of them have a second floor with a balcony that is great to sit on and enjoy the view. A particularly recommended place (at least for pastries) is called Topaze.

Nice Old Town
The alleys of the old city are beautiful, the houses are painted in warm colors: pink, orange and yellow, and they are a perfect backdrop for photos. You will find a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and souvenir shops here - this is undoubtedly the most visited area of the city.

Although it is touristy, you can find some culinary gems here. My favorite place is Lac patisserie . A patisserie that is purely chocolate, and almost everything I tasted there was wonderful, with an emphasis on the chocolate cream cake filled with nut cream. In the old city is the COURS SALEYA market. In the morning it is a fruit and vegetable market used by the locals, while in the afternoon some of the stalls change and become souvenir stalls.

And speaking of the Old City, I recommend you read this story that takes place right there and features a Muslim pirate and a particularly brave woman. And one more thing you should know. If you come to the Old City during Carnival, you won't regret it. You can read more about that in this article.
city center
The main avenue of Nice connects the old town to the city's train station and is called Ave. Jean Medecin. This avenue and the streets leading off it are the place for those looking for shopping. You will find branches of Zara, Mango and Co. here alongside luxury brands, such as: Michael Kors and Lacoste.

When you want a quick break from shopping, it's worth stopping by Ballanger. A pink café that you can't ignore with its design and the decrepit display case that showcases a variety of Belgian waffles, crepes, churros, and more.

At the exit from the old town towards Jean Medecin Street is a huge plaza dedicated to children. On one side there is an area with fountains where you can run around. On the other side there is a special playground called PROMENADE DU PAILLON. It has large and elaborate installations made of wood.

There are several museums and galleries throughout the city, including: the Marc Chagall Museum, the Matisse Museum, and the Photography Museum. You can buy a free daily ticket to all city museums for 10 euros or a free weekly ticket for 20 euros.
In short, if you are looking for a diverse urban destination that does not require much walking – Nice is undoubtedly the obvious choice. If you want an even longer and more varied vacation, know that the Riviera region has many towns, artists' villages and attractions that are all worth a visit. Hotels in Nice
