Mont Saint-Michel is Normandy's (or Brittany 's, depending on who you ask) most famous tourist attraction and undoubtedly one of the must-sees in France. It can be reached from Saint-Malo and other places, but if you want to see it at sunrise or get there early before the tourist waves, you have no choice but to live near it.
In the following article you will find some recommended hotels that are located not far from Mont Saint Michel and that can also serve as a base for star trips in their own right. I have divided the article by price so that the cheaper hotels are at the beginning and the more luxurious ones are at the end.
Accommodation within the walls of Mont Saint Michel
These are the only hotels located within the walls of Mont Saint Michel itself. They are not the cheapest or the most luxurious, but they are the only ones that allow you to stay on the island after the crowds leave.

La Coque d'Or
Apartment within the walls of Mont Saint Michel, two hundred meters from the abbey and a few steps from the island. The apartment has a living room, a fully equipped kitchenette with a fridge and coffee maker, and a view of the city. The score of 9.6 is the highest on the entire page. However, it has only one bedroom, so it is suitable for a couple and not a family.

At Adele's
A holiday home inside the walls of Mont Saint Michel, in a building built in 1425. A few steps from the monastery and two hundred meters from the island itself. Linens, towels and a TV are provided. This is the way to sleep inside a World Heritage Site and go out into the empty street after the visitors leave. However, this is a holiday home and not a hotel, so there is no reception and no toilets.

Auberge Saint Pierre
The hotel is located on the main street of Mont Saint Michel in a 15th century building and has all the comforts you would expect from a modern hotel including a TV, en suite bathroom and WIFI. The hotel has rooms with a sea view and it is definitely worth trying and booking them to enjoy one of the most beautiful sights of France.
