Evian is much more than expensive bottled mineral water. For me, Evian is a lovely place that left me with a wealth of childhood memories.
I visited there in the 1980s and to this day I remember the main street, the cafe, where I would play video games (while my parents would drink coffee, eat cake, and rest a bit), the fun spa (despite the sulfur smell that comes from the mineral composition of the water), and of course the magical lake on which we sailed in a motorboat.
But nostalgia, as sweet as it may be, is not the only reason why I recommend living in this place.
The main reason is the breathtaking beauty of the town and its surroundings. Evian lies at the foot of the French Alps and on the shores of Lake Geneva, the largest lake in Europe. Anyone walking along the shores of the lake sees snowy mountains on one side and blue skies on the other.
The second reason is the famous springs discovered in Evian in the early 19th century, which turned it into a luxurious spa town. These springs attracted quite a few hardy people to the town, and as a result, Evian offers luxury hotels with spas, spa resorts, restaurants, and casinos, all in a style preserved from the Belle Epoque period in France.

The Armitage Hotel is set in a green park on the banks of Lake Geneva. The hotel is decorated in the style of the 20s with spacious rooms, a medical spa and beauty treatments, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, two restaurants and a spectacular piano bar. The hotel loves children and has set up a huge, safe park for them.
Hotel Restaurant Du Port
Looking for a hotel that is located so close to the lake that you can wade your feet in? (The lake is really cold!). The hotel is located about twenty kilometers from the town, with a traditional Alpine design. It offers an excellent restaurant, a rich wine cellar, an indoor swimming pool and rooms with a private balcony right above the lake.
The Golf Manor
Good news for golf enthusiasts! Inside the Golf Academy in a breathtaking location outside of Evian, is a luxurious hotel in a conservative style reminiscent of exclusive clubs in England. Golf courses, courses, fine dining and wine from the cellar. An amazing birthday gift.
Royal
The Royal Hotel is located outside the town on 470 dunams!! A magical hotel, designed in the style of the early 20th century with a view of the lake and mountains. The hotel offers a fine spa center, five restaurants, swimming pools and terraces facing the lake. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the town center.

The Oasis
A warm and welcoming family hotel in the town, within walking distance of the lake. The hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool, a restaurant, comfortable rooms, a large garden and table tennis. The hosts are highly rated for their advice on choosing excursions and restaurants.
Hotel De La Plage
You won't find it closer to the water - the hotel is located right in the lake on stilts! Rich accommodation with spacious rooms, a gourmet restaurant, a tennis court, an outdoor pool and a park. The hotel has its own boat dock and parking for cars.
Hotel Le Littoral
An old hotel in Evian, designed entirely from local wood and giving the feeling of a chalet in the Alps, but located in the center of town. Offers a breakfast made from local products, a sauna and massage, and bicycles for riding around the lake.
Swans
Located in the heart of Evian on the banks of the lake and close to the casino. Cheerful and inviting design, each room is decorated differently. The hotel offers two gourmet restaurants with lake views, a pool, boats for sailing and a mini golf course for children.
