Nantes Airport Hotels

  1. Hotel Oceania Nantes Aéroport

    Hotel Oceania Nantes Aéroport

    ★★★★ $$$

Anyone who wants to pamper themselves, even if it's just for one night, is welcome to choose this hotel. It is a 4-star hotel located very close to the airport and has a pool, tennis court and a restaurant serving local cuisine. It is located in Bouguenais right next to the terminal, has a shuttle and parking on site. If your flight lands at night and you continue in the morning to the Loire Wine Route, this is the way to start the trip relaxed. However, it is outside the city, so an evening in Nantes itself requires a trip. I recommend it for the first night only.

  2. Stopover Oceania Nantes Airport

    Stopover Oceania Nantes Airport

    ★★★ 8.3 · $$

A 3-star hotel located in the airport complex in Nantes. More luxurious than the previous hotel and even has an outdoor pool, tennis court and rooftop terrace. I stayed there with my parents for one night and it was perfectly fine and very comfortable. Note that its full name includes the word Aéroport and that it is located in Bougagne, not in Nantes itself. However, it does not have a restaurant for dinner, and the sister hotel next door is already full by 7:30. I recommend making sure to have dinner in advance or eating in the city before you arrive.

  3. B&B HOTEL Nantes Aéroport

    B&B HOTEL Nantes Aéroport

    ★★ $

A basic two-star hotel that will meet your immediate need for accommodation near the airport, and not much more. The rooms are air-conditioned and there is free Wi-Fi. A great and cheap solution for the first night. The reception is open during limited hours and there is an access code for those arriving late, which is exactly the case with most flights from Israel. However, don't expect dinner, room service, or anything other than a bed and shower. I recommend requesting the access code in a message on the day of booking, so as not to stand outside at 2 am.

Four-star hotels in Nantes

  1. Oceania the Hotel de France Nantes

Oceania the Hotel de France Nantes

    ★★★★ $$$

Excellent location, not far from the Nantes Theatre and the Place Royale. Although the hotel lobby is built in the 18th century style, the rooms are completely modern and spacious. The service at the hotel is very friendly and there is a bar open every day. There are 72 rooms on Rue Crébillon, some in the Art Deco style, and there is a suite with a private terrace overlooking the rooftops of Nantes. There is also a gym. However, parking is very limited and those arriving by car should plan in advance. I recommend asking for a room with a view of the Place Graslin and the theatre, it is worth the difference.

  2. Okko Hotels Nantes Castle

    Okko Hotels Nantes Castle

    ★★★★ 8.5 $$$

A 4-star hotel in the center of Nantes, with a modern and pleasant design. Each room has a coffee machine, air conditioning and a hairdryer. The price includes access to “Le Club” which offers snacks and light drinks throughout the day, and an aperitif in the evening. There is also a gym and sauna. It is located a few steps from the Ducal Palace, and the idea of the club being included in the price saves quite a bit. However, the rooms are efficiently designed but small, and in the bathroom you pass through the shower to the toilet, which is not suitable for everyone. I recommend booking a space in the underground parking in advance, because it is small.

  3. Sozo Hotel

    Sozo Hotel

    ★★★★ $$$

A unique boutique hotel housed in a renovated 19th century church! The rooms are modernly decorated, blending in with the original stained glass and arches. A unique experience in a central location near the botanical gardens. It is located on Rue Frédéric Cailliaud, just minutes from the train station, and has a sauna and hammam. Sleeping under Gothic vaults is not something you get to do every day. However, parking here is the obvious weak point, and the rooms are not large. I recommend arriving by train rather than car, which makes sense given the location.

  4. Billie Hotel

    Billie Hotel

    ★★★★ 8.7 $$$

A small, stylish hotel on Rue Scribe, fifty meters from the Théâtre Graslin and less than two hundred meters from Passage Pommeraye, in other words, in the heart of Nantes' most beautiful district. The property was formerly called Hôtel Amiral, hence its strange slang. The design here is truly meticulous and not just modern, and the staff wins repeated praise for helping you plan days in the city. However, parking is expensive and not easy to organize, and some of the rooms with twin beds are narrow. I recommend asking for a more spacious room when booking and giving up the car in favor of the tram.

Recommendations for 3-star hotels in Nantes

  1. Hotel Voltaire Opera Nantes Center

    Hotel Voltaire Opera Nantes Center

    ★★★ 8.6 · $$

A small, inexpensive hotel built in 1855. Located not far from the city's theater, it offers an elevator and free WiFi (not a given in this category). The continental breakfast includes delicious handmade jams. It is located on Rue Gresset, a minute's walk from the Cambronne source and less than five minutes from Passage Pommeraye. However, the hotel does not have air conditioning, which is noticeable in a heat wave. I recommend it for spring and autumn, and less so for mid-August.

  2. Best Western Hotel Graslin

    Best Western Hotel Graslin

    ★★★ 8.5 · $$

Central location, good quality and reasonable price make this hotel highly recommended. You can choose between a buffet breakfast in the dining room or a breakfast served in your room with fresh local pastries. It is on the Place Graslin itself, with a small park around the corner, and has air conditioning that works well, which is not a given in an old building in Nantes. However, the rooms are small, the restaurant downstairs is noisy at weekends, and the express breakfast only opens at 10. I recommend asking for a room high up and not above the restaurant.

  3. The Hotel Nantes

    The Hotel Nantes

    ★★★ $$

A three-star hotel with the same name as the famous hotel in Paris. Excellently located near the cathedral and the train station. A nice bonus: from some of the rooms you can see the Palace of the Dukes of Brittany . It sits right in front of the palace moat, which means you open the shutters to one of the most beautiful views in the city. However, this is an old hotel and the rooms are not large. I recommend specifically requesting a room with a view of the palace when booking, because not all rooms face that way and that makes all the difference.

  4. ibis Styles Nantes Center Station

    ibis Styles Nantes Center Station

    ★★★ 8.3 · $$

A hotel from the well-known IBIS chain, which provides quality, clean and modern hotels at very reasonable prices. Excellent location near the train station, the Ducal Palace and the botanical gardens. Breakfast included. It is located on Allée du Commandant Charcot, one hundred and forty meters from the station, and has a sauna and secure bike storage. However, the rooms are very small and a couple will feel it. I recommend making sure you get to the right branch, because there are several Ibis hotels in Nantes within walking distance.

  5. Maisons du Monde Hotel & Suites - Nantes

Maisons du Monde Hotel & Suites – Nantes

    ★★★ $$

The hotel is part of the well-known French furniture chain, and it's exactly what you'd imagine: each room is carefully furnished in a different style, and alongside the rooms there are also apartments with a kitchenette for longer stays. The location is absolutely central, close to Place Graslin and Passage Pomerelle. I like the idea that you can sleep inside the catalog and not just browse through it. However, some of the apartments are in a separate building without an elevator, with a narrow staircase up to the third floor. I recommend checking when booking whether your unit is in the main building or in the apartment wing.

Cheap hotels in Nantes

  1. Hotel Le Cambronne

    Hotel Le Cambronne

    ★★ $

A great hotel for those looking for a cheap place to stay in the city centre. Although it is a simple hotel, the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. All rooms have a shower and toilet and there is free Wi-Fi. It is about forty metres from Place de la Gare, which is in a location that much more expensive hotels pay for. However, it is an old and basic hotel, and don't expect air conditioning in every room or a big breakfast. I would recommend it to anyone planning to spend the day out and mainly need a clean bed in a central location at a reasonable price.

  2. Hotel Abat Jour

    Hotel Abat Jour

    ★★ $

A cute two-star hotel in the historic center of Nantes, about a 7-minute walk from the train station. Very close to the Ducal Palace. There is a buffet breakfast and a small bar for guests to use. The name, which means lampshade, suggests the small, homely nature of the place. It is especially suitable for those arriving by train and want to reach their room on foot without a tram or taxi. However, it is an old building and the rooms are compact. I recommend asking for a room on a higher floor, where it is quieter, and remember that there is no elevator to all floors.
