Brittany: A guide to the land of crepes, cider and medieval cities

Brittany is where the ocean meets the legends. For me, it is a land of nostalgia – from the days when I looked out over Saint-Malo from the cliffs of Guernsey to the endless walks between ancient castles and enchanted forests. This combination of wild landscapes, ducal history and cuisine based on fresh seafood and fish makes Brittany one of the most “proper” regions in France.

In short, now that there are convenient flights to Paris (and from there by high-speed train or car) – you have no excuse to miss this wonderful region of the country.

This page is dedicated to the memory of Danny Ashkenazi (1946-2020), a dear Eshkolot man and good friend who wrote quite a few of the articles about Brittany on my website.
