There are people who can live with their bucket list until their last day, fill it up from time to time and continue life as usual. I, fortunately and unfortunately, was one of those people who, when something was added to their bucket list, they simply would not sleep soundly and would jump on one leg, drive elephants crazy and make the world go crazy, because this thing on their bucket list is s-
Canal cruise in the Anjou region – why do we need it?
It took us a good few months for it to crystallize into paradise, and so the man and I set out to celebrate a late wedding anniversary and an early birthday across the canals. FranceThe concerns that popped into our heads and we quickly dispelled them:
-What? Stay on the ship together the whole time and never move?
-What if it turns out to be geriatric boredom? What if we run home on the first hour?
-What if this less touristy area is just a joke? Aren't we crazy about the freedom we got without children?
-What if we don't manage to sail the boat? Because among our strengths there are many things, but fewer technical things like that... and we have to navigate alone, God forbid.
-What if cannibals find us on the way? Or tigers hunt us?
So what was it really like?
In short. Not geriatric tigers, not cannibals incapable of navigation, we did it like grown-ups. After some deliberation, we chose the Anjou region for the cruise, which turned out to be a gem. Clean air, everything green, full of castles (or maybe it's houses?) popping up on every hill. Fields upon fields, donkeys and cows that look like they're having a good time. It was a simply amazing experience. We felt like we were sailing in heaven. Everyone was nice to us, and of course, bonjour bonjour and a smile to everyone we passed, as is customary, until our cheeks hurt in the evening. Especially for this experience, I learned to ride a bike and it paid off. Along the entire route on the river, there is a bike and horse path, flat and shady. At the docking points, we went for a wander through the villages, most of which are ghost villages with a population that is not exactly young. Still, it was an authentic, pampering and quite enjoyable experience.
It amazed us that it didn't matter that there was nothing in the village. There are four residents on average, and yet there would always be room for fresh croissants in the morning. We received the sweet, well-equipped boat, and after a two-hour briefing with the lovely crew, we set out with the guide to try out our new mooring skills on the nearby pier. Within a few minutes, we were all in the dock, to the sound of the guide's cries, who hadn't expected such a thing to happen to him. Finally, we parted with a handshake, as he said that, to his shame, the previous Israelis had given him a tip of ten agorats and even said it was worth a lot of money. Shame.
We navigated with pleasure and didn't understand why we deserved all this goodness. We cooked almost gourmet meals on the boat. We enjoyed incredible sunsets. We chatted with people who sailed on our route at several points along the cruise. The locks (let's say they are mini-dams/current lifts whose purpose is to equalize the different heights along the river to allow boats to pass) were a source of laughter for us, adding to the overall experience.
In short - I want it again!!! And it's beautiful croissant One first!

Spend the night in the field at a quiet hotel, minutes walk from the terminal 3- citizen N A charming young man and in the morning a delicious nose.
-If you are in the area and are staying there for a night before or after the cruise, then you must come to this amazing b&b!!! With sweet people and generous hosts, who love to talk, ask questions and be interested. The whole place is from heaven, huge weeping willows, surrounding grassy areas and kissing the water. Clean, pampering and delicious, because for 28 euros there is also dinner on site, don't miss the experience, and remember me when you go there 😎. The name of the place – The Mine Curtain . Great!!
