Saint-Malo is one of the most important and charming cities in Brittany . The reasons for this are many, including its unique history and attractions, and its geographical location, which allows for star tours in Brittany or even a trip to Guernsey . Since Francophiles walk on their stomachs, I decided to recommend some excellent restaurants in Saint-Malo and its surroundings that will allow you to enjoy Breton cuisine.
I divided the restaurants according to price level, with the relatively cheap restaurants and creperies at the beginning and the more expensive restaurants at the end.

Creperie La Marie Cecile

Cuisine: Breton (crepes)
This excellent crepe restaurant is about a 20-minute drive from the old town of Saint-Malo but is definitely worth the trip (and a great place to cycle along the coast). They serve a variety of sweet and savoury crepes and they are all simply delicious. The crepes can be washed down with the natural cider that is served on site.
And one last thing, if you book a place at this restaurant, you can get up to a 20% discount, which makes a visit here particularly worthwhile.
Two Degrees West
Address : 3 Rue de la Pie Qui Boit
Cuisine: French but slightly eclectic
A very nice restaurant located not far from the old city walls. Here you can find classic French and Breton dishes such as foie gras escalope alongside dishes with a very strong Asian influence such as Thai soup or pork ribs with ginger-soaked carrot sticks. Add to all this excellent service and very reasonable prices and you have a winning restaurant.
La Corderie
Address : 8, Allée du Marégraphe
Cuisine: Breton
A restaurant by chef Denis Gerbert that specializes in seafood and is located about a kilometer and a half from the ramparts of Saint-Malo. Along with excellent food that includes a range of seafood including lesser-known ones (for example, Palourde oysters), you will also find a great view of the sea and excellent service.
It's definitely worth going outside the walls and reaching this place.
Absinthe
Address : 1 rue de l'Orme
Cuisine: French
An excellent and inexpensive seafood restaurant located within the walls of the old city of Saint-Malo. The cuisine here is more creative than most restaurants in the area and you can also find dishes such as “Günther Grass’s Life of Turbot No. 10”. It is definitely recommended to try the place at least once and if you book a place through this link on the website you will receive up to 20% off the menu.
L'Aristide
Address : 18 Rue des Cordiers
Cuisine: Breton folk
A simple and unpretentious Breton restaurant in the best sense of the word located in the old town. Here you will find seafood typical of the region at very reasonable prices. Note that the restaurant is small and the menu is less suitable for children. So if you are on a family trip, you may want to find another restaurant, but if you are without children, enjoyment is guaranteed.
Le Millésim
Address : 11 Rue des Cordiers
Cuisine: Classic French
A classic French restaurant not far from the old city walls. You can find excellent steak and of course seafood. For an authentic experience, try the Breton burger wrapped in sarazine (a savory crepe).
Gourmet restaurants in Saint-Malo and the surrounding area
The 7 Seas
Address : 64, Chaussée du Sillon
Cuisine: Classic French
A charming gourmet restaurant located not far from Saint-Malo. The restaurant belongs to the Nouveau Monde hotel and provides its diners with excellent food alongside a sea view. The restaurant serves mainly fish and seafood such as crab ravioli. Although this is not a cheap restaurant, you can find business menus here for 49 and 60 euros that will allow you to enjoy the restaurant's excellent cuisine without breaking the bank.
Cape Horn

Cuisine: Classic French
The gourmet restaurant of chefs Patrice DUGUE and Pascal POCHON offers you a breathtaking view of the Bay of Saint-Malo alongside creative cuisine based on local produce. Although this is an excellent gourmet restaurant, business menus are available here (also in the evening) starting from 39 euros per person, making dining here very affordable.
